Robyn Griggs Lawrence thumbnailIf every American spent an extra $3.33 on goods made in the United States every year, we could create nearly 10,000 new jobs in this country, according to ABC World News’ Made in AmericaChallenge, which launches this week. During the series, a Dallas family agrees to have their house made over using 100 percent American-made products. Once all the imports were removed, the family was left with a vase in the living room and the kitchen sink.
The network is compiling an interactive map that shows where products are being made from coast to coast, and several members of the Sustainable Furnishings Council stepped up to help refurnish the home with domestically made goods..
Harden Furniture , a 167-year-old family-owned company in upstate New York, is providing the kitchen table.
